New Junior Coordinator for 2026

We are excited to announce our new Junior Coordinator for 2026 - James 'Jimmy' Highgate.

To say we are thrilled about Jimmy taking on this role is an understatement and we are looking forward to him taking the reins of our Junior programs.

Jimmy will oversee the junior football program (U8–U16) for boys and girls, ensuring development pathways and also the Bears Academy.

Some words from Jimmy:

12 years ago I took the leap and took up coaching junior football, a low division Under 10s side but instantly fell in love with the job. 11 years ago I left my junior club and moved to a club to play some senior footy with some mates.

The opportunity to continue coaching juniors again presented itself and of course I took it. Along those 11 years there has been many highlights, definitely some low points however nothing I would ever change.

Today after 12 straight years, 149 games and a few less hairs on my head I coached my final junior game for the club I love, at the club it all started at! After 12 straight years it’s time for a break, it’s time for a new challenge!
